rnFastDrill Live Tooling
Question: What is the FastDrill? rnAnswer: The FastDrill is an affordable live tooling solution for gang tool lathes such as the OmniTurn or Accuslide Lathes.
The FastDrill is a semi-integrated solution for light milling and drilling operations. The FastDrill was designed particularly for maximizing the
output of economically sized lathes by allowing the operator to eliminate operations in production.

rn
Question: What Lathes will the FastDrill Fit? rnAnswer: The FastDrill will fit virtually any gang tool lathe. It was specifically designed and developed to be adaptable to any
gang tooled CNC lathe. Simply attach the FastDrill's air hose to the actuator on the your lathe watch the FastDrill work for you. rn
|
Question: What kind of milling/cross drilling can I do with the FastDrill? rnAnswer: The FastDrill is made for light milling and drilling. The FastDrill runs up to 20,000 rpm, adjustible with the included filter/regulator
and includes both 1/4" and 1/8" collets. The FastDrill is ideally suited for slotting, drilling, milling in steel, aluminum, plastic

FastBack Hard Jaws
|
Question: What are the dimensions of the FastBack jaws? rnAnswer: FastBack Hard Jaws are 6" x 1.72" x .72"
FastBack soft Jaws are about 6 3/8" x 1.5" x 2" and ready to be machined to fit your application. rn
|
Question: How can I use FastBack with a double vise? rnAnswer: Just get our FastBack center island. The FastBack center island uses a cam system to hold FastBack compatible jaws on both stations of the vise, allowing super fast jaw changes. Use the Center Island with the Hydra-10st and hold 20 parts at one time!! rn |
Question: How accurate are FastBack hard jaws? rnAnswer: FastBack hard jaws are made from 1040 steel, hardened to 60-62 Rc and ground parallel to within .0002" accuracy.

Hydramax Workholding System rn
Question: What is the HYDRAMAX Workholding System? rnAnswer: The Hydramax™ Workholding System utilizes two vise jaws that replace the jaws in your
Kurt or similar vise. The sliding jaw is replaced with a jaw employing independently
acting clamping pistons. These pistons are connected to a common channel that enables
the forces of the clamping action to equalize against all the parts. rn
|
Question: What are the advantages of Using the Hydramax™ Patented Workholding System? rnAnswer: There are many advantages to using the Hydramax Workholding System, but most people
site the HYDRAMAX's ability to hold many parts at the same time, with exactly the
same amount of pressure, without any slippage, even when the parts have slight
variation in size.
We have also heard of people using the Hydramax, particularly the Hydra-10st, as a
means of holding a part with a contour. rn

Question: How does the HYDRAMAX work? rnAnswer: To explain the wonders of the HYDRAMAX goes beyond the scope of this FAQ and into the
realms of complicated physics.
The simplest explanation is this:
The movable jaw is replaced with a jaw employing independently acting clamping pistons.
These pistons are connected to a common channel which enables the forces of the clamping
action to equalize against all the parts. The solid jaw is replaced with a soft jaw that
can be easily machined to hold multiple parts.
This unique system makes holding small multiple parts easy. The chance of having a loose
part is eliminated due to the equalized pressure of the pistons. This ends the problems
of broken cutters, scrap parts, and damaged fixtures associated with multiple part holding
in a single vise.
